Meet Scooby Deux. HaShem knew how much my Scooby meant to me. When he “transitioned” across the Rainbow Bridge at 6:15 pm on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, after being my BFF (best furry friend) for almost 16 years, my world came to a screeching halt. My dear friend Roger Reynolds, with neighbors Mike McVey (my 4th coousin) and Kenny Taylor, laid him to rest in the backyard of our apartments. The house was so very empty that night, I barely slept. Wednesday morning I went to the Humane Society of Parkersburg’s website searching for a new companion. The first dog I saw looked very much like my Scooby, of blessed memory, and his name was also Scooby! I couldn’t believe my great fortune, and he was adopted by about noon. I later found out that he had been at the shelter from January until April, then with his wonderful foster mom, Dr. Erica Bailey, from April till I met him in August, yet nobody had adopted him! I believe that my Loving Father, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, anticipated my need and saved Scooby Deux for me. Isn’t it wonderful that our God is so deeply concerned for even the little things in our lives!
